Whats a 454 worth

I found a 10 year old truck (96) that has a 454 with auto tranny and only 20,000 miles. Runs really nice. Thinking about buying the old truck just to get the engine and tranny. What's it worth?

In oz a good runner bb $3500. Auto what is it 700 or 400
What truck is it and some pics would be great

not sure on tranny. no pics. it was a nuclear plant emergancy truck, a Chevy 3500 HD if I remember right. Bed was removed but the cab had been cut to allow someone to walk through the cab to the equipment. I assume equipment was heavy so I would assume a 700. Looks like I need to go back and look at it. I assume if the BB is worth $3500 the tranny is .....what....another $1000 is it is a 700?

96 should be the 4l80e tranny , same thing my truck had but heavier duty being the 3500 series. as for the BB i would say 800-1000$ since it prob. sat around and idled ALOT and who knows if they actually maintained it. make an offer and see if they take it. worst they can say is NO and then you can barter with them. if ya get the WHOLE truck it would be an easy swap other than a tranny mount/crossmember.
oh and the 3500$ is in OZ (australia) so it wouldnt be 3500 US dollars

actually the truck was cranked weekly and run a few miles. it was for emergencies only. runs like a new one.........and frankly still looks near new.
