ok, just thought I would throw this out there....I have a delima, I come across a good condition 1972 blazer (specifics to follow with pics when I get them, all I know is it was a naval base truck on the west coast). Anyway....I was planning on buying a late model crew cab with 1 ton running gear to put on my 70 3/4t 4x4........where to spend the money....both are actually exactly the same price....do I go for making the daily driver ever more hardcore (and part availability friendly) then part out the crew cab....or do I buy another 67-72 money pit??

I'd go with fixing what you have then parting out the crew cab.

Easier to find another late model 1 ton than finding another 69-72 Blazer.

If you use the 1 ton's parts on the existing 4x4, will you be able to use it to it's full potential - alot of people don't really need the Dana 60 axle - nice to have and awesome for bragging rights - but I'd decide if I actually need that strength.
