I have a 72 3/4t BB with 60k miles on it. I think it has the original alt on it still. I will try to look at it for you. I also have a 41k mile 71 with a BB. Would that be the same #??

I picked up an alternator and I think it might be the right one, but I need to determine this through our threads here on his!

It's on the aluminum housing's outer shell around about where the upper bracket is....

My parts catalog lists for 72:
72 All, Blazer (non-integrated) 1102459 42 amp (Delcotron) (Exchange Item)
72 All, Blazer (non-integrated) 1102455 61 amp (Delcotron) (Exchange Item)

The one in my truck is a 1102455 61A date: 2B21
(The title and VIN on my truck says 71 but all details that is different between 71/72 makes me think it actually is a 72)

I found the 1102452 Generator in my 1972 10-30 SERIES TRUCK SERVICE MANUAL.
Listed in the GENERATORS section:
Model No. 1102452
Applications: CA, KZ, GS and PS 10-30 Models.
Delco Remy Spec. No. 3395
37 Amps.

Looks like 1102452 is correct for a 72 truck, I believe the CA application code stands for:
Chassis Type C= Conventional Cab 2 wheel drive
Engine Type A= All.
I can decode the other application codes except the KZ (maybe a typo)but I think CA covers your truck.
