do i have this straight? gmc front clip
gmc uses the chevy style 67-68 fender on all gmc's 67-72. if this is true is it also true for the hoods? how bout the core support? can a gmc core support be converted (because of the quad headlights) easily to chevy style? thanks.

Re: do i have this straight? gmc front clip
The hood is the same as the similar year Chevy hoods (my 70 GMC has the same hood as a 70 chevy, but has the same fenders as a 68 chevy). The only differences I have heard between the core supports is the headlight bucket placement.

Re: do i have this straight? gmc front clip
GMC`s grille designs, basisally two, from 67-72 didn`t differ enough to require the core support to change. The 67/68 Chevy grilles were an integrated (yet bolted) body panel where the GMCs were like 69-72 Chevy grilles.Basically,no bodywork up front, just a huge trim piece filler(grille).Like Krue said, the hoods run hand in hard between Chevy and GMC.The front of the 67/68 Chevy and GMC fenders was part of the front grille bodywork. Then,GMC started using the wide eyebrow moulding that reqired the recesses that were in the 67/68 fenders.

I know the '68 GMC core support can be easily modified to fit a '67-'68 Chev by removing and replacing the headlight buckets too.

Re: do i have this straight? gmc front clip
well thanks for all that info guys. i was hoping changing over from dual to single headlights would be fairly easy. looks like im going to have to take the support up to dan and have him do it for me since he's experienced =) course if i go up there im going to have to haul away that tranny he's been "storing" for me.
