If he wasn't very experienced, he might have run into the HEI/points wiring issue -- the old points type "resistor" wire needs to be replaced with a full 12v wire.
Other than that, I can't think of any other wire running to the engine that would affect it's running. On these trucks it's temperature, spark, starter, generator. Brian |
