Bolt Pattern?
Does anyone know for sure if a TBI 305 from a 88 Firebird is a chevy bolt pattern as far as bellhousing bolts? Or would i need a Buick/Olds/Pontiac pattern trans (meaning I would pass on the motor)
I am 99% sure it is chevy, but can someone please verify? Thanks -Jeremy

Re: Bolt Pattern?
Jeremy, if it is the 5.0 305, which my Wix filter book shows it should be, that is the Chevy 305. The 5.0 307 would be an Olds engine which uses different engine mounts and bell housing pattern. The Olds engine is easily identified by the oil filler located in the intake manifold and only 5 head bolts on the bottom row. The different bell housing pattern is easily fixed with a BOP adapter, they work just fine. The engine mounts are a little harder to adapt.
