went off roading today
soory i dont have any pics but i will see if i can get some but i have a question.
1) when i went to go up a hill my truck seem to stall on me al the time(lack of gas?) 2) my master cylinder brake cover blew off and fluid went every where(why?) 3) i noticed when i was almost done alot of anitfreeze on the ground. i thought i blew a head gasket but i am not sure. the motor has 153.000miles on it. not sure if it was abused or not b4 i got it but ii have out it through the paces. so why did i see anitfreeze? thanks Last edited by outacontrl86; 04-05-2006 at 07:57 PM. |

Re: went off roading today
how steep was the hill you were trying to climb, too steep and your carb was starving for fuel...
not sure on brake issue.. as far as antifreeze on the ground.. if its on the ground its probably not a blown headgasket as it usually goes into the cylinder and gets evaperated or blown out the exhaust.. if it was under the front of the truck i would guess hole in the radiator hoses or radiator itself, of coolant is leaking out of the weep hole in the bottom of the waterpump, which is a good indication that your waterpump is going out.

Re: went off roading today
I've had my truck almost vertical and it kept running great. The problem is when I'm off camber gas starts pouring out of the filler neck. Then, when I go the other way the beer rolls out of reach.

Re: went off roading today
could be your carb isnt adjusted properly..
i dont think it would come out of the manifold unless the seal around where the waterneck meets the intake was messed up or if the hose wasnt tight around the filler neck.. |

Re: went off roading today
It also depends on what carb is on the truck...

Re: went off roading today
Holly's are not fond of being on inclines. When you went up hill it probably flooded the front bowels and starved the rear bowles...
