How Many Have You Had?
I'm just curious. As cheap as these trucks were at one time,as well as being stylish, simple to work on,and extremely durable, how many 73-87 pickups/subs/blazers has everyone owned, total? My first ride was an 83 C-10 longbed.By the time I was 17 that poor ol' 305 was an oil burning pile of scrap, but did keep on running .All total,my count is 2 Blazers,1 Suburbaban, and 13 pickups. But don't get me wrong,I'd buy another tommorow!

Re: How Many Have You Had?
Thats a tough one .
1 - First truck (started driving in 1987) was a 77 short wide 350/350 Silver exterior / red interior. Went through several engines, transmissions, rears ,wheel/tire combos ,etc. Last driveable state was Lt Blue ext / Dk Blue interior ,454/th400 , Narrowed 9 inch ,Weld Draglites measuring 15x6 front and 15x14 Rear. It looked good but was only driveable on dry pavement due to the 31x18.50 Mickeys . Still have it ... sorta . 2 - 1977 short wide , 2 tone burnt orange/tan Weld Draglites/ BFG's 3 - 1982 short wide , 350 3 spd man dk blue American Racing wheels , tires 4 - 1985 3/4 ton 350/4 sp man Red / red 5 - 1987 Short wide 305/ th400 factory loaded Blue / blue Rallys/ BFG's 6 - 1986 3/4 ton 350/4 sp man Blue /blue 7 - 1987 3/4 ton 350/ 700r4 factory installed Blue / blue 8 - 1984 3/4 ton 454/th400 Lt Blue / blue loaded 9 - 1974 1/2 ton long bed brown with white , tan interior Champ 500's 10- 1984 1/2 ton long bed 305/auto Dk Brown with tan center ,tan interior ,very nice original truck 11- 1974 3/4 ton 454/auto 92,000 miles , Orange /white factory tach etc. 12- 1974 3/4 ton 454/auto orange/ white low mileage but wrecked . Keeping this one for parts 13- 1979 Suburban 454/th400 Blue/ silver Sold it to a board member (Staceydude). 14- 1983 Long bed , Two tone 305 auto etc. 15- 1978 Maroon/Wht 2 wheel drive Blazer 350 auto . 16- 1979 Black 4 wheel drive Blazer 400/auto 17- 1978 Bonanza Black/red 36,xxx original miles etc . It is my avatar but I sold it . 18- 1977 Bonanza 1/2 ton long bed Blue /blue 350 /auto Rallys/ BFG's. I drive this one. 19- 1974 GMC Sierra Custon Long bed Yellow / white 350 auto . Bought yesterday . Its Solid but I think I will part this one . 20?- may buy a 1979 GMC Sierra 35 single wheel one ton 350 , 4 speed ,4.10 rear gear . Looked at it today . These are the ones (that I can think of right now )that were real nice and were drivers . I have had almost as many parts vehicles and have had many that were newer but I have never bought a New vehicle for myself. We have bought several New vehicles for my wife . I wish I had all the money that went along with these . Frank

Re: How Many Have You Had?
In the past 18yr's over 30 of them . I dont know the count any more but I have owned at least one of everything made 73 - 87 . There were pickups short and long , fleet and stepside , 2X and 4X , blazers , duallys , one tons , suburban , blah blah blah . Got 4 right now and I think there will always be one . Oh yeah , I'm not counting the 67 - 72's a few of those too.

Re: How Many Have You Had?
I have the 75 C10 CD 350/350 my dad bought in 84 and give to me in 89, and the '85 I just bought a few weeks ago. My grandpa had some nice ones though growing up. He had a 75, 78, and a 82 was his last pick up, then he started buying astro vans. As a kid I remember all his pick ups and that is why I have an obsession with them today.

Re: How Many Have You Had?
Ah,the ones that have gotten away. When I was 14,my grandfather offered me his 76GMC,that he bought new when I was born.I could have had it for $800.It was a 1/2 ton 2wd shortbed, completely rust free Oklahoma truck, had a camper on it it's whole life, and 43,000 original miles to it's name.I turned it down because it was ugly, and no kid wants a 6 cyl. 3 on the tree.Looking back,I really wish I could have overcome the desire to hang 2" duals and 12" cherry bombs on a V8.I'll never forget that old truck,he used to take me fishing in it all the time.It was that Chestnut brown(kinda orangish),with white steel wheels and white dogdish hubcaps.
