One ton question

Got a 70 or 71 c-30 short whelelbase dually, 6 cylinder with a auto. Is this a common setup for a 1 ton? Thanks

Re: One ton question

6 cylinder duallys are very common (that's where my 292 came from actually), but with an auto trans is pretty uncommon.

Re: One ton question

By short wheelbase... you mean 133 instead of 156, right?
You say 70 or 71... look for disc brakes...that'll tell you if it is a 71.

Re: One ton question

The auto is rare, even rarer with a 6.Is it a TH400?I`m thinking all dual wheel 30-series had TH400s.Does this truck have "Park"?What type of body/what was it used for?

Re: One ton question

It's coming here the 23rd or the 24th, will post pics then. A friend of mine bought a house and this was left there and he gave it to me. 133" wheelbase would be correct.

Re: One ton question

Cool! Looks like a '69 'cause of the inner grille. That's pretty rare, a 6 cyl/auto in a dually!

Looks like it'll fire up,and drive home

I've seen worse fire right up like they were driven yesterday though.

Good score.

I hate getting numbers all messed up.
That does look like a 69, and it looks to be in good shape for something that's sat long enough to start sinking in the mud.

Re: One ton question

Hmm..Looking at the truck pics I'd say it probably had a 292 6 cylinder...has fender badges...I bet they said 292.

67, that is a factory gas tank delete plate.
If you look at this pic, you'll see another one mounted all goofy.
