regardless if it was replaced or not, i've alwasy been told 72's came with a silver trim.

I just looked at my original 1972 sales brochure and it shows just like I have my 72 grill redone...

So,no black around the center of the surround,like in your picture?Were there any differences,or do people not realize that the original grilles have the paint faded/polished off and the new grilles aren`t accented?

Right, 69-70 had the headlight surround painted black. 71-72 had the plain stainless headlight surrounds, but 70 the grill surround had a black stripe like the pic I modified of ClassicStyle's red truck...

 I think 72 is when they started using synthetic blinker fluid and exhaust bearings too. |
