You're right about the lack of integrity in the frame when the top is removed. I noticed my blazer started to sag a a tad shortly after I removed the top. You can even see the saging taking place in the above photo. Just look at the back side of the door opening. See the gap is larger at the bottom than at the top? Has anyone else with a topless blazer noticed this on your own? Do the doors really do much for the integrity of the truck?

The boxes under the floor "should" be what stiffens the body up,but if they aren't all that solid then the door's would take some of the load.
My boxes are solid and I've never had any issues with "sagging" or alignment issue's when I took my top off.

I'd like to imagine i havent either... i havent noticed anything.. (And my boxes arent rusting away so.. )

My boxes are solid and I noticed slight sagging. The only reason I noticed the sagging is because my passenger side door started to stick after I took the top off.
I had no idea what those boxes were for until I started reading some thread on this message board. Back in 2002 I went out to Utah to look at a Black 72 Jimmy and the owner removed the boxes when he replaced the rocker panels. Never replaced the boxes because "All they do is rust." Glad I did not buy that one. The list why not to buy the truck was overwhelming compared to my list of why to buy.
