Here's a before shot... you can see there's a 1/8th to 1/4th gap there.

One thing to watch out for, the replacement I had was a bit longer from the curve to the bottom and once I had it welded in I found I had to cut and tweak the bottom of it to get the rocker panel to fit over it. I think the biggest concern here is getting everything bolted together once the new parts are in.
