Progress on the 1970 2WD.

Well I made some progress over the weakend on my 70 2WD Blazer. It had a rather large dent on the driver's side wheel well and it was rusted out in the lower rear quarter next to the wheel well. So I decided to cut out the bad area and shave the gas filler at the same time. The rocker boxes should be here mondat, so I can finnish the driver's side rocker box replacement and set it on the ground!! Then it will be time to pull whats left of the front clip, engine, & transmission in preperation for lifting the body of the chassis. Then off to the powder coaters with the chassis.. Sorry, I forgot to take befor pictures... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: Progress on the 1970 2WD.

Ya, we finaly got the driver's side completely done after the last guy screwed it up. I will take some pictures once the blazer is on the ground and rolling again. Wright now they are parked too close together for a good shot, that is why the bad angle on this repair job. WES

Lookin' good. Did you use an aftermarket patch panel or is it a piece from one of your many spares?

Re: Progress on the 1970 2WD.

hotrodhomi, The gas filler will be behind the rear side marker. bouncytruck, It came off of a bedside that oterwise was un-usable. I don't sell very many of the large wheel well patches, so I don't stock them. I just decided to do this one day, so out came the plasma cutter, and cuttoff wheel..lol WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: Progress on the 1970 2WD.

Blazer progress looking good and just looked at some of your prices on parts on your online catalog. Good prices. Looks like I will be hitting you up on some parts as I just bought a 72 swb cheyenne. My Blazer fortunately is rust free all original metal. What kind of luck on the Blazer doors? I was going to cut mine down to match the bedsides and make a roadster out of my 2wd. I just didnt want to cut up all original rust free doors. They do not even have a dent on the inside of the doors or holes cut for speakers!!!

Re: Progress on the 1970 2WD.

hotrodhomi, Wes has a "How-to" write upon moving the filler neck behind the side marker on his web site.
