I flipped the rear on my 69. I used a '73-'87 kit & had to grind a little off each corner, The 73-87 perches are wider than on the older trucks. If you use a flip kit they are designed to move the axle back to center & correct the pinion angle. Heres a pic of the flip kit & a pic of my truck. It has 3" springs in the front & another inch of drop in the front would level it out a little better...corn

BTW, the frame isnt notched either. If you drive it like a car & dont haul heavy loads it will be fine...
