Cool Late Model Rims

I have a chance to buy some late model Chevrolet truck tires and rims off a 2005 Z71. They are 6 lug rims. Does anyone know if they will fit a 1966 six lug Chevrolet Truck pattern?

Re: Late Model Rims

make sure you check the backspacing first... i know the newer style wheels have heavy backspacing...not sure what you are running now

Yes, your new wheels may look sucked in. I tried on a pair of similar rims and the wheels were in way too much for my liking.

Thanks for the info. I never thought about the backspaceing. I think I will forget about them and save up for some 20" rims.

Re: Late Model Rims

I have been told that the hub diameters are different between our old trucks and the 85-newer rims. Also I have seen the center hole smaller on some of the newer rims. Doesn't the spindle also stick out farther on the old trucks? Just some of the things I have been told to watch out for depending on the style of the new rims.

Re: Late Model Rims

yes the hub hole is smaller on newer rims. I tried to put my 2001 suburban factory rims on my 65 c10 and center hole was too small.
