Yes, it's very feasible.

You may have to experiment with the number and placement of the LEDs for the desired effect. But, it should be a straightforward mod, even if you have to adjust the intensity of the LED light output. I wouldn't believe a high power resistor is necessary for the flasher operation due to the relatively low sidemarker bulb wattage. But, if needed, you could instead go the route of an electronic flasher especially if you plan of installing other LEDs for tail/brake lights, etc. Use a good qualtity LED like Superflux, too.
