hey all Im from Connecticut im working on a 47 3100
here's some pics Im going to try and put a 454 with a turbo 400 tranny something a little different then I've seen on most forums. Does anyone know what rearends work well in these trucks I have heard that a 89 trans-am rear works good. are there any other rear ends the work as well? Also are the engines from these old truck worth anything the yellow one in the pics is from this truck its completly rebuilt and has no miles the guy I bought this truck from spent about 4800.00 on it then his wife got pissed and made in sell everything. the blue engine id from a 40 coupe it was rebuilt in 78 and has about 30000 on it with a 3 speed tranny attached. well anyway nice to meet all of you!!!!!! 89 is going to be too wide...axle needs to be 58-60 inches wide....and the 89 is 62( I think). I have a '68 camaro rear end in my truck...and its perfect width...

IIRC the Nova rearend is just the right width to put under a 47-54 Chevy truck.
