Couldn't agree with you more Bob. Stacy David knew his stuff. Those guys on there now are worse than the parts store clerks.

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

That new movie "Stick it" based on gymnastics (my girlfriend made me watch it) has a sweet 67-72 suburban they drive throughout the whole movie. My girl was soo pissed that I kept talking about the truck while watching "her chick flick". It drove me crazy everytime they showed the truck driving with the characters inside, they never took it out of park it must have been on a trailer or something.

I am guessing he was that lucky, look at how the lights are reflecting off his glasses, most cut-outs reflect some light so I would say there would be some reflections on her if it was a cut-out not sure though

I saw the bald trucks guy on an old episode of "Dog eat dog" the other night. I used to look forward to that show, now I look forward to changing the channel when it comes on.

Oh ya, there was a quick glimse of a 67-72 suburban on the movie Starsky & Hutch on TV the other night...

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

I seen one on a chevy commercial sometime back a few years ago there was an old farmer using it as a work truck, then his son came in the scene with a new chevy, there was one on the old country video "where corn dont grow" and a blue or grey one with a wood bed on the old country video "sante fe".

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

I forgot about every which way you can (tow truck). The fall guy a red step side was a stunt double for a ford they were chasing. There was on a movie Lonestar state of mind I believe was the title, a light blue and white 71 or 2 that I think was originally yellow from the look of the inside. How could I forget Kenny Chesneys video I go back yellow and white 71 or 2.

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

In the movie "Bob Roberts", they show a 67-72 dark green SWB stepside parked in front of his parents house.
In the movie "The Lakehouse" w/ Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock there's a nice 60-66 blue chevy LWB, it's a chick flick, but they sure show an awful lot of that truck in the movie.

There is a gold 69-72 blazer in the movie Radio -Asst. coach drives one

Let us not forget Cooter's Wrecker in the original Dukes of Hazzard Series, you can check it out on Cooter's restaurant page on the net

There's a green pickup in Footloose - the jerk ex-boyfriend/bully drives one

I just watched a movie with a nice sub in it, but can't remember what it was.
Give me a couple hours, I'll think of some more.

One of the best is at the end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, also the opening scene for one of the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movies, the one where the cops are killing the bad guys assasination style I think.

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

As you guys may or may not know, AMT/Ertl put out a model for Cooter's wrecker, you might find one on EBAY. Well, as you know, they archive kits and may or may not release them again. I couldn't get an email to them directly, so I emailed Cooter at his Restaurant webpage, because he sells memorabilia from the show. I asked him to consider using his "status" to influence the folks at Ertl to re-release the model. I also suggested that he try to purchase a number of them directly from Ertl and sell them on his website. If any of you care to support the cause, please send him an email at
www.cootersplace.com

Thanks fellas

It was actually an MPC kit, but AMT bought MPC...

There's also one in the movie 'Jeepers Creepers 2'.
Some kind of exterminator, the truck has a big bug on his roof.

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

Cooter used three different trucks of our years one was a wrecker, one a green 67 long bed and a gold or brown bed in one episode they made a rig that if a car would pull up beside it, it would pretty much shread the side of the car.

Re: Celebrity 67-72 trucks on TV

So I'm watching "Lone Wolf McQuaid" (an 80's Chuck Norris Flick), he shoots a green 67-72 - which in turn blows up in the first 10 minutes, then there is a white short stepside at the stable scene, then a green 71 or 72 that a dildo runs into a tanker trailer with - which in turn BLOWS UP! They were really hard on our trucks in this film.
