looking for a schematic
I am looking for a schematic or a diaghram for the steering column on my 65. the bearing and the plastic it was in is disintegrated. the p.o. had the horn wire and taped to the outside of the column. I have posted this on the other sites also. I would appreciate any help with this matter. If any body has a repair manual that they would like to sell please let me know. ThANKS Lou. H.

Re: looking for a schematic
I suggest the following manuals for addressing about any question you will have concerning '60-'66 Chevy trucks:
1960 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual (for '60-'62 Chevy trucks) 1963 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual Supplement (for '63-'65 Chevy trucks) 1966 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual Supplement (for '66 Chevy trucks) 1960-1966 Chevrolet/GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual Each of these manuals is invaluable in providing information about your truck. They are available on eBay by doing a search like "1965 Chevy truck" and check the title and description box. They are also available at: www.bowtiebits.com www.chevyduty.com www.lmctruck.com and many other aftermarket truck suppliers. For the $25.00-$30.00 for each of the manuals, you will save ten times that in time and money searching for the information. I also find these manuals quite informative about factory specs. and original equipment availability. Any and all questions can be answered by someone on this or other Chevy Truck forum sites, however with these manuals you will be able to respond to some of the posts, as well. Good luck with your search. Last edited by LILRED66; 11-30-2006 at 01:47 AM. |

Re: looking for a schematic
lilred 66 I took your advice and ordered some manuals from chevyduty. Why mess around. I have a 65 C50 wrecker. The manuals will cover the basics-292 six-cabs are the same-mostly all the wiring.I think it will be worth the money. Thanks Lou. H.

What is the # of the top steering column bearing with the green horn wire. The pic you sent me was blurry and side ways Thanks Lou. H.
