Need wheel help
I am going to order new wheels for my 71 and need some input. The wheels I have now do not tuck up under the wheel wells enough. If I get a different offset I can let more air out of the bags to bring the fron end down another 2 or so inch's. Here are the 2 wheels that I am looking at. They are Boyd Coddington wheels the first one is the Magneato and the sencond on is the Junk Yard Dog. Let me know what you think. I need to order them soon so they will be here by the middle of Feb. for a show in Portlan, Or.

Re: Need wheel help
i like the junkyard dog ones mostly because i like that style wheel and plus i think they look like a more complete wheel and the others are nice but i think they look to spread out but either way your truck is to nice to not look good with either wheel so goodluck with your decision and goodluck with the show went its time

Re: Need wheel help
Either would look great, I would probably pick the Junkyard Dog.
I thought you were thinking of the Wheel Vintiques 20" Rally a while back, they would look awesome on your truck! Last edited by CHYNSPR; 01-15-2007 at 10:26 AM. |

Re: Need wheel help
I was but just not sure if that would look like to much wheel. Plus I have got new cross drilled and slotted rotors. The Billett rally's have to paid up front and there are no returns. I would really like to see a set before I spend that much money. But as you can tell I am still torn on this.

I like the Junk Yard Dog, the wheel would fit the look and the name is cool.

Re: Need wheel help
Junk Yard Dog vote here. The look similar to the TT's which look great on these trucks. I like your current wheels the best. Can't get them with a different offset? Or just looking for something different if you're gonna spend that much money?

Re: Need wheel help
That is a nice looking truck, short bed's are sharp, the Junk yard dog would have to be my choice, that is if it were my choice, but you are the one shelling out the danero, I think the junkyard doggies give a good look and also they seem to have the nostalgic look of the early 70's era. but most of what you choose from I think you wont go wrong, I actually like em both but junkyard doggie has my vote...... sweet ride dude...

Re: Need wheel help
I would go with the Magneto's, always liked them, ordered some Centerline smoothies for mine though, wanted something a little old school think I may paint the centers.

Re: Need wheel help
I voted JYD, but it is your truck...and a very nice one at that.

Re: Need wheel help
It seems that the mageneto is on alot of escalades and such. The dog is popular with our styled trucks bagged and such. Id like to see it a different look than most of the rest of the crowd...........but its crazy nice either way.

Re: Need wheel help
I'd say the Junk Yard Dog IMO. I've always been a big fan of the old Cragar SS rims and I can see a bit of them in the JYD's.
