What's up guys? First post with a pic...

What's up everyone? This is my first post over here. I'm a member of 73-87chevytrucks.com and thought I would check this site out as well.

Well this is my truck (bad pic, but the only one I have)

It was lowered by the previous owner I believe 3/4 or something close to that. Right after I bought it, I blew a head gasket on the 350, so I rebuilt the top end and carb. Right after that, my tranny blew up, so I just got it back from the transmission shop and the TH350 and torque converter are fresh with less than 1000 miles on them. Then a week ago, I spun a bearing in the engine.

It sucked, but this should be coming sometime this week:

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...55609_-1_10763

This coming weekend the crate motor will go into it, and then I got some new tires coming for it.

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. Sorry you had to go to all that trouble with your truck. Maybe you can enjoy it for a while now.

Welcome to the board. Arkansas here. It usually goes the way you discribed it. Fix one thing and boom goes another. You got alot completed and the motor will top off all the extra work you've put in it. Truck looks nice. I like how the wheels match the paint.

Re: What's up guys? First post with a pic...

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

It's too bad about the bad luck. When I got the truck, it was in perfect shape. The paint looked like the usual 27 year old paint job, but the body was nice and straight with no major dents or dings. All the chrome is there, and even the interior looks VERY good. No cracks in the dash, no rips or fades in the seats. It looks like it might have been reupholstered at one time, maybe 10 years ago or something.

After this motor swap I'll have done the engine, carb, tranny, torque converter, brakes, fixed the stereo (has 2 10" subs), new tires, etc.

It sure is a money pit, but 5 grand later and it'll be WELL worth it. My dad had an 81 with a 305 when I was growing up. He always said it would be mine one day, but it never happened. Now I have this one. The one truck I've always wanted!

Re: What's up guys? First post with a pic...

Oh and N2Trux, the funny thing is, the paint is orange and the rims are painted red. It looks the same in the picture though, and it actually doesn't look half bad with those rims painted!

But after the motor swap and tires are done, I'm going to paint the red part black, and primer the entire truck black (3 months before paint)
