Good deal. Been well, we've got a 7 month old girl now, she's a blast. Still have the truck, just taking a break from working on it. Kept having problems with water getting in the fuel cell. Last time it happened was summer of 2005. I got so mad I just parked it. It's been sitting there until today. I rebuilt the TBI, flushed the lines, charged the battery, aired up the tires, etc. Just waiting for my stepdaughter to get out of school and I'll go get some gas. Hopefully there's not anything else wrong and I can fire it up.
I figured I'd be in deep doo doo with it sitting that long w/ water in the gas. Some rust in the TBI, but the plugs were all clean. Unfortunately I twisted the steel fuel line (return side) taking it off the TBI. Don't think it's crimped or cracked, soon find out if it needs to be replaced as well.
Saw Dave (LOHRTBT) yesterday, he's got a job here in Tulsa now. Glad to see you're still around Jeff.

You need to lose that stock plastic cap if you are still running it, I went with this Jaz filler.

Yup, that's part of the plan. I still remember yours after a couple years. One thing I was thinking about though, how do you tighten the bolts for that cap? When I removed the stock plastic one, I had to reach into the tank with a wrench to hold the bolts. There's no way I can get my hand into that one! How did you do it? Your deck plate is much nicer too, I used a plastic one from a boat store.

To run that filler neck, I had to enlarge the opening slightly and drill the additional mounting holes. Wasn't hard to do, especially with the tank being empty. I did clean the tank out afterwards, hopefully I won't run into any issues once I fire up the truck for the first time. This cap uses a split D-ring that goes in the tank (which you will have to buy), that has the bolts already attached to it. Just position it in place, slide the cap over the bolts, and tighten down.

That makes sense. Well, I got the gas, put the jumper on the battery (doesn't seem to be holding a charge), turned on the pump, and turned the key. The engine will turn over, but the pump isn't working. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed. If it has to be replaced then the truck goes on the back burner for a few months. Not even sure how soon I can swing a new battery. Gotta get the thing running with this spring weather!!!

Other bad thing, got a new radio in it not long before it pooped out, sat in the truck today trying to remember how to work the thing (& remote).

Nice to see you Jon, will see what we can do about the meet.

Got to thinking I need to check wiring to the pump, could be something simple. Too bad I fried my volt meter thinking I could use it on household wiring (you can't, it turns black and melts a bit...).

Welcome back although i don't think i was around last time. anyways i was looking back through some of your other posts and i gotta say You got one nice truck there!! Looks really good from the pictures i have seen and that blazer looked alright too. Glad to see you did not sell the truck. I am going to do my grill and headlight bezals in the same kind of way you did. What kind of grill did you use?

I couldn't even begin to tell you what kind of grill that is, I think I got it in 1996. Ordering it from Summit comes to mind, but that's not to be trusted. I used to have the headlight blackouts, but that look passed about the time I got tired of being pulled over for them. Just painted the stock bezels black.
