Solidaxle to Dakota I F S
Here is the start of a new build, lets see if the pics are samll enough to post. This is the start of my second truck as the 55 GMC turned out to be a very good driver I thought I would build one with automatic OD. This is a crossmember from Industrial Chassis in Phoenix and it will accept 86 to 90 Dodge Dakota bolt ons and the wheels are 5x51/2 so it will match the Ford 9" I have for the rear. This day one and the hardest part was removing the rivets !!!

Re: Solidaxle to Dakota I F S
looks like your off to a good start guy. The chassis fab & or mods are my favorite part of the build.

Re: Solidaxle to Dakota I F S
Please keep up informed! Ive been thinking about using the dakota front end vs the mustang on my 49. Be interested in how this front end works out...Eric

Re: Solidaxle to Dakota I F S
Industrial Chassis Inc has many of these Dakota on the road for Chevys and Fords this is not a new product as Steve has been producing these for years. The Dakota is the right design for our heavy trucks and the Geometry is correct along with the track width.Bone yard parts are very reasonable and replacable parts are over the counter and they come witha sway bar, disc brakes 5 lug and Rack and Pinion steering.
