Stock 47 3100 frame and 454bbc

I want to install a 454 in my 47 3100 and I have seen a couple of you have don this already. Did you box or strangthen the frame at all?


Also I've been considering an s10 frame swap. How big of a project is this?
Does the body install fairly simple or is the huge amounts of fab work?

You should at lease box the front of the frame. Here's a link to a company that makes a kit that allow you to bolt a 47-54 body to an S-10 frame.

gman I am doing a 52 for my dad and we are going to box the whole frame. I don't think it really need the whole thing done but if we ever want to add more power it is something we won't have to mess with. I already have the boxing plates and will do it when I get done with the floor. Check out my signature for a link to what I am working on. I am trying to post pictures whenever I do something.
