My brother has found a truck through a friend, it's a 1967 K-10 Shortbed. It has a 73-87 stepside bed. He hasn't seen the truck yet but he says the guy said it is kinda rough. It needs a motor. They stuffed in a 305/350, and go figure, but the 305 popped. The guy want $300 for it. I have a 283 down at my stepdad's dad's house, but the problem would be getting down there to pull the motor back out and getting the truck home. My grandpa bought a '01 Dodge 1 ton, but it doesn't even have a towing package under it. But my question is: would it be worth it? And can anyone give me some tips? Also I can get a '67 lwb I can buy for $200 right next door to where my motor is, would it be worth the headache of getting everyone to help me or should I wait until I have better resources?

I don't have too much room, I have enough to get them both though. I would have my neighbors pitching a ***** though over my greasy, ugly(for the time) trucks. But would it be worth all the running around? I mean seriously. I'm only 15 so I don't have too many friends with resources.

Your 15 years old , Ok thats different . Keep it simple . I do not know if you have a truck to work on now but if you don't may be you family can help you get one of these , picking the one in the best shape.

At any rate, a 67 K10 swb is pretty uncommon.

If you dont get them now, when you do want them they will be gone. Its happened to me many times....Snooze, you loose.

Id grab the 67 K10 for sure , but make sure to see the title first! I looked at one a couple years ago. Turned out to be a 67 body on a 73 up style frame!
Another thing to check (at least up "north" ) is the frame itself ... Ive seen more than one 4x4 frame that was rusted thru from salt. Like 68 says , they are hard to find! I just bought a 67 4x4 LWB frame and was glad to get it!

OR.... if you want to deliver it????... ....

Brandon, I say go for the 67 K10. But then again, I'm probably just prejudice. LOL

Seriously, look them both over carefully and see which one has the most potential for the least investment. It doesn't sound like you could go wrong either way for those prices. I paid alot more to get my 67 K10.

As long as it isn't too rusty. I would buy the 4x4. I saw one a 67 k-10 a few years ago that was for sale for $600 that was in way worse shape than that one sounds, and I am still mad I didn't buy it. There just aren't all that many swb 4x4s around. Even a nice bare frame goes for $1,000 here.
