Porterbuilt Tire/Wheel sizes....20's & 22's
I know the answer is buried in one of these posts, but I can't find it.....
A couple of the Porterbuilt trucks (including the Panel) are setup using a 20" wheel up front with a 255/35-20 tire (approx. 27.03" diameter) and the rears are a 22" wheel.......but I can't find the tire size???? I think I've seen where the rear tire diameter was described as 29" in some discussions....but the closest tire I've found to match that is a 285/35-22 (approx. 29.85" diameter)???? Anyone able to clue me in??? ![]() Thanks!

Thanks! That puts it at 29.30"......pretty close to the 29" I thought I'd remembered reading about.

Re: Porterbilt Tire/Wheel sizes....20's & 22's
Even better.....accurate info! ![]() Thanks, in case you can't tell I'm still "studying" and trying to understand as much as possible before placing my order. At this point, I'm basically settled on a C4 Dropmember with the C4 rack & pinion. Will the ART Air-Bar (bolt-on 4-Link) get me all the way down in the rear on a 29" tire?.....or should I chill-out and wait for your rear suspension design to be completed? ![]() .

Re: Porterbilt Tire/Wheel sizes....20's & 22's
If you were running a solid rear axle (which I am)....what's your take on a good rear suspension setup??
The Air-Bar looks like a well-engineered design, and simple because I don't have to do much other than just bolt it in. However, I don't know for sure if it's intended to "lay frame" or not. I know that a certain amount of cutting is going to be necessary out back to get all the way down (driveshaft clearance, frame notching....maybe more) but I'm hoping that by staying with a decent diameter tire, like the 29" variety we've been discussing.....the mods won't become excessive out back. .

I am waiting on Air Ride's new Strong Arm kit for the rear to get here so I can play with it. I have a 62 panel (my new shop truck
![]() You had mentioned towing with your burb... it will be quite a bit of work to lay frame and keep the structural integrity of the chassis in order to safely tow.
