That is the tie rod. somebody else on site was just asking about one couple days ago. You could make one for cheap. good luck.

well it looks like you have no choice but to fix it.
then search the country side looking for one

I to needed this tie rod tube - called several custom 4X4 shops and they stated they can make one for 73 and up but the tooling needed (different taps) are not avaliable for the pre 73's. It was stated if i bought the taps they would make it. They also sell the prethreaded ends to weld into a new peice of tube but they are having quality issues with the material. I to searched all over - I had the idea that using stock 73 parts but the tie rod holes in the knuckles will need to be reamed oout for a larger hole. One other option was the famous crossover steering. I opted out and swaped out the whole axle for a open knuckle out of a 86 Suburban. This swamp has it problems also. If you want the links to the fabricators - i can give them to you.
