The build plans...

As the name suggests i have an infatuation with boosted cars...Both of the cars i currently own are turbo 4 cylinders and make decent power. Plans for this truck are already in full tilt.

Remove that lights off the cab is high on the list. Going to drop the front end 2 inches and the rear about 3" to get the ride height i'm looking for. Probably going to put a roll pan on the back and delete the exterior trim. Going to go with some 17x8 wheels. And a HOK Tangerine(Sunset Orange) is the color it will end up. Interior will stay pretty bland(it is a tow vehicle afterall ) Also going to have to add a receive hitch for the goal. As for the drive train... The 350 will get freshened up with a full bearing set and some forged pistons and a nice big cam. Haven't really decided on the intake yet, but it will be a full roller setup with a good old quadrajet carb sitting inside a can being fed by a single GT4094R Turbo. Plans at this point will have it being a hot setup at first and i will expand it to include an intercooler later on if i need to try to squeeze a little more power out of it. It should be good for around 500/500 @ 10psi.

Any input is appreciated.

The trim looks in good shape. If you take it off and don't want it, let me know.

Turbos don't like big cams

They like rather mild cams with a low compression ratio

I have two motors that beg to differ. Big cams and higher compression just make it more prone to knock. With a properly tuned setup knock is not an issue.

Bland and tow vehicle interior seems backwards to me.If I'm going to spend the long haul in it towing I would want a sound deadened cab and some creature comforts but then again I'm an old shiftless fart.

Re: The build plans...

When i say tow vehicle, i mean truck to go bring home my broken dsm. I won't be hauling the car much, i just hate asking friends to borrow their truck if i need one for some reason. I want the truck to be fun to drive for the most part and the interior has little to do with it being fun to drive to me. I want it to look good, make decent power and good torque.

Sounds like a good project, and I can't wait to see the build up.
