Replacement Bedside question

I'm looking to buy a replacment drivers side bedside for my 1977 Long bed truck. It has dual tanks with the round hole. Should I go with a replacement side or try to find a used bed or side for sale and just unbolt that? Do the aftermarket sides come ready to bolt on or are they just the outer skin? Thanks.

Re: Replacement Bedside question

ive seen complete replacement bedsides and they bolt in but you also have to tack weld them like the factory ones LMC has em as do all the major catalogue suppliers. Problem is they are pricey and you can usually find a bed cheaper than two bedsides unless youre building a show truck thats the way to go

Re: Replacement Bedside question

ive bought the aftermarket bedsides a few times. there ok quality as long as you dont get one with shipping damage. changing them is fairly straight forward, easier then a fender. but like any aftermarket panel be prepared to oblong a few holes in the panel.

Re: Replacement Bedside question

Id go find some original bed sides. after market stuff is thin if you tap it you can tell the difference. It a soup can sound to a pepsi can sound its a big difference. My buddy did after market and hates them hes now put on orginal on his truck.

Just thought i give the other side of the opinion.
