Here are some numbers if that helps any:
The exhaust emissions from new 1975 through 1978 model-year light-duty trucks having an engine displacement of 50 cubic inches or greater, subject to registration and sold and registered in this state, shall not exceed: Model Year 1976 Hydrocarbons 0.9 Carbon Monoxide 17 Oxides of Nitrogen 2.0 with all the crap they require... I am surprised that any vehicle enthusiast stays in any state that requires testing (unless of course they make $500K or more per year and can afford a Jag or new limited edition Vette)
