Re: Just want to drive it again

The 69 cab is in worse shape than the 71 and the driver side shock mount on the frame is gone. The hole and the metal that stick out so the shock bolts up at an angle is gone. I can’t believe I don’t have a pic of the shock mount. or whats not there

69 drum brakes
71 disc brakes

But.... I do need the radiator support brackets that are on the frame from the 69. The 69 clip and doors and probably the bed will also go on the 71.

Right now I just need to get it started so I can go ahead and put the clip on.

Does anyone now how you might get the brackets off the frame? How to remover the rivets? I am thinking an air chisel is the best bet??

Reaper,

Easisest way I have fouind is to use an air grinder and cut a star patern in the top of the rivet, then the air chisel will knock the top right out, then use the air chisel punch to knock it out. I had mine out in less than a minute.
