Patch Panels - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I guess this would make a bit more sense on the Paint & Body section, but it deals directly with our 67-72 trucks. I have heard from people that some places sell patch panels that are supposed to be direct replacements of the rusted out ones but when it comes down to it nothing lines up, be it the body line on the door or the indentations on the back side of the cab. I'm planning on redoing my cab corners, rocker panels, all supports, kick panels and both floor sections, lower door skins, front fenders and possibly parts of my box. My question for all of you experienced people who have done these replacements is whose patch panels have you used and what were the results. Pictures are welcome and greatly appreciated!

My rockers and cab corners came from JC Whitney. I took my time with them and they came out great.

I bought a corner from GMC Paul and 1 from Classic Heart Beat(wes).1 for each side they lined up pretty good I only cut out the rust and then trimmed the replcement piece.I would (will)purchase from them again.Plus they know the truck's

If you take your time and measure everything up properly. You shouldnt have any real problems. Just remember the old saying measure twice cut once

Got mine from LMC and was dissappointed with the design of their cab corners. Would not go that way again. When you get cab corners make sure that they run full length of rocker. LMC corners angle back at the bottom about 1 1/2 " up.Rockers wern't to bad but the front of the rockers where they meet the piller were more rounded at each turn than a oem. Floor panels seem to fit fairly well.

Like kaycee said, only use as much of the cab corner as needed to fix the rust.

I used rockers, inner rockers and cab corners on the drivers and pass. side of my truck. I bought everthing from Kingparts. I was inpressed with the cab corners they had all the correct bends. I installed them from the body line down. The rockers needed a little work in the A pilar area but hay they are aftermarket. Just remember to take your time like Randy said and you should not have a problem. BUT JUST REMEMBER THEY ARE AFTERMARKET PARTS. They will not all line up like the factory parts. But while taking your time you will never know the difference.

You should check into Scotts Super Trucks in Penhold Alberta. They have every patch panel you should need and you don't have to worry about the exchange rate and customs crap. Here is a pic I scaned from their catalogue. I will also post the price list in a couple minutes

I got mine from Wes at Classic Heartbeat have bought elsewhere also takes a little fitting around the fron ot the door pillar on rocker but when done look good
