Re: My 1965 build thread

Sorry to hear about that too Alan. I saw another truck that had headers like the one you have and they fit nice. I'll try to find the truck again and let you know what year it is. I too also went with the HOOKERS.

Yeah we had this discussion about headers a few months back in this thread. I'll have to scroll back thru it when it time to get another set.

Thanks David.

For those that don't know I'm cleaning out most of my extra stuff. I can't stand this crap cluttering up the place. Go to the link in my signature. I'm not really interested in shipping but if it is manageable and you pay the shipping I'll send it out. I don't want to ship anything like a grill etc. A couple pieces are spoken for. The frame, engine, cab and blue doors are not free.

Yeah, don't have much to worry about where I'm at. It's real bad about 10 miles to the south of me.

Working on the 55 a little to see if I can get it going. Sold a few things on ebay to get up some cash, now the problem is what do I get. I think the inner repair panels for the bed and front bed panel. Also thinking about getting SS brake lines so I can finish up the brakes. It took about a month off and on of selling stuff to come up with $400 just to go blow it in a view minutes.

This rolled thru my work a couple days ago.

Alan I bought my ss brake lines from Inline Tube. They fit perfect and did not have to modify anything.

Unless you were going for the SS look you may want to check out the cunifer stuff, I used it and loved it. Just an FYI.

I'd like to run SS, but if I have to do any double flares I'm in trouble.

I'm trying to do a double flare on a steel line and here is the outcome, but first I ran a piece of hard line on the 55 from the fuel pump to carb and did pretty good making it go where I wanted. I'm practicing on the 55 before I cut loose on the 65.

Looks like I have some more practicing to do. I deburred the inside and chamfered the inside and outside. This was my second attempt. Maybe 3rd times a charm. The flare on the left is store bought if you couldn't tell.

Love the pics. Electron. You know you can buy that stuff in different lenghts at the store flared on both ends. That would'nt be as fun though. You would think with all the sanding you do you would'nt have finger prints.

I hate flaring took a few tries for me as well when I added the disk brakes to my 66. Thanksfully the guy at the parts house gave me an extra 2' section to practice on!
