Re: New Jimmy owner
Well - I must admit for Ohio - that is a solid truck...nice find indeed.
$2500 break down (in my opinion) Rebuilt Tranny - $500-$800 Double Wall Top with a solid rear hatch - $400-800 (maybe more here in Ohio) STC soft top in mint condition - $700-$1000 (difficult to find) 8" of Spring Lift - $800-1400 depending on brand Poly Tank - $150-200 Hidden Hitch - $75-150 I would say that you did quite well - nice job. I looked for awhile in Ohio for any solid Blazers/Jimmys - no luck for me. I took my Blazer to a car show on Monday nigh with its paint chips, minor surface rust here and there, a driver side door that won't close right, beat up bumpers, and wiring hanging down under the dash - and people stopped to talk to me about it when my gf and I got out to walk around to see the other cars. Like I said before - you just don't see these trucks in Ohio that often. Thanks for raising the numbers in Ohio. |

Re: New Jimmy owner
I know about the ohio rust belt problems. I have not seen a blazer or jimmy on the road around here in more than five years. This jimmy kind of fell in my lap. I sure wasn't looking, but I couldn't pass it up. Really I was looking for any kind of affordable, older convertible, that would seat 5 or more. Problem solved!
As far as the lift, I measured to the bottom of the rockers and have a strong 26". The wife needed a push in the rear just to climb in. I'm definitely going to need some nurf bar steps or somthing. Aaron
