Great looking 63, curious as too what size tires and how much you lowered it? I also have a 63, and love the stance yours has.

Re: 63 chevy short step hoodride
Blocks in the back? It's not a coil spring set up?

Re: 63 chevy short step hoodride
Thanx for the info, I love these trucks in a rough finish, it kind of reminds me of the truck trace atkins had in the rough and ready video getting all the women and the rich guy stuck riding in the back.

Re: 63 chevy short step hoodride
yes the rear is coil spring ,on one of my other trucks i had i made ablock to fit in between the axle and trailing arm and had a longer u-bolt made to bolt it back together ,without changing the spring ,not for sure but the biggest you can make is a 4'' thick thats whats under my 63 .

Re: 63 chevy short step hoodride
i just cut 2 1/2 a couple days ago and just shaved the bump stop and its pretty rough up front, but getting better i guess the springs are getting some tension back or something

Re: 63 chevy short step hoodride
peter/sam did you cut the metal bracket that holds the rubber stop completely off the lower a-arm? I cut 2 rounds off my 63 the other day, and when I lowered it back down in had about 1/4" spring travel (ouch.) I was gonna try adding a couple of those spring-helper thingies before buying new springs. I didn't think of grinding the stopper bracket off. Is that what you did?
