I made the cover of the September issue of Vintage Truck Magazine! (pic)
I sent in a ton of photos I took of my truck along with a letter, and the editors at Vintage Truck Magazine said they'd probably use it. Little did I realize they'd put it on the cover!
Vintage Truck Magazine is pretty cool - they mostly focus on restoration, drivers, and original trucks, but not the chopped and dropped rides (not that there's anything wrong with that, they just cater to a different audience). The magazine comes out once every two months, and can usually be found at Barnes and Noble or another store with a massive magazine rack. Here is the link and a picture: http://vintagetruckmagazine.com/ci_features.shtml If you click on "Driving a Time Machine by..." you can see the spread on the right, but can only preview a small portion of the first page. I'm pretty excited about it, but sadly I won't be able to see it until Friday - I leave at 4AM tomorrow for a week long field problem (going in the woods to play Army). Well, my apologies for the self indulgent celebration, but I'm pretty damn excited!

Very, very cool, Kurt! Haven't seen that publication around here. Will definitely check it out at the bookstores. Good job!

Kurt:
I subscribe to that magazine, and immediately wondered if that was your rig the moment I saw the cover! When I opened up to the story I knew it was. Very exciting, and the story itself was very well written, too! Congratulations! Ken Lewis Last edited by KIILew; 08-13-2007 at 03:22 AM. |

That's awesome Kurt. The honor couldn't have gone to a more deserving truck. From what I could read of the article it was well written. I suspect this will be the 1st of many for you and your truck....

Re: I made the cover of the September issue of Vintage Truck Magazine! (pic)
Thanks for the support guys - I really appreciate it!
Just got in from a week out in the woods, and was greeted with a package containing 7 copies of the magazine! I think it's funny how they simply published the exact letter I sent them. They made a few syntax and style changes, but for the most part it's 99% what I wrote. If I had known I'd have put more effort into it... Edit: If you buy the newstand edition, it will have writing and barcodes and all that other magazine stuff on it, some of which gets in the way of the picture. If you subscribe or order it online (I think... don't quote me on that) then the cover should be free of writing, etc.
