Unhappy brake line blew

Im posting this for a freind, he was driving his '87 Gmc 1/2 ton 4x4 and his rear brake line blew. now his brake light is on all the time. im thinking mabey the proportional valve needs reset but i dont remember how i did it before. he said it seems to stop ok but i dont know. thanks

The way I've always got it to go off, was after bleeding the brakes real good, apply some heavy pedal pressure. This recenters the valve.

Only way I know of doing it.
