How did they do it back in the day wihtout electronics? Just curious, thinking of shaving the handles on my 64 but want to stay away from the electronics.

Thanks.

Re: old school NON electric door poppers?

Back in the days we would run a cable from the door latch to a "hidden " place, usualy the front fender, make a handle, looping the cable worked well, and pulled it to open the doors, real low tech.
The funny thing is that today they still recomend to do this as a back up incase your battery dies, or you look your keys inside of the car.
Or leave the vent window un latched.

Re: old school NON electric door poppers?

I don't have any pics by on my '68 I did, I put in a bicycle cable from a tandam bike (because it was longer) from the door latch to up under the front bumper. Keep in mind I had added the flexible boot and matching holes in the door and door jam for running all the electrical wires for PW, speakers, etc. so i just ran the cable with the wires.

Not hard to do, just think it out first to keep the cable from binding up but bicycle brake cables work great because they are so flexible.

Hope this helps.
