3" Blocks
Anyone running 'em?
I'm worried about scrubbing the lower shock mounts out back. I'm running a 20" wheel with a 30" tire. An extra inch would be nice though...

When you notch it you will lose the upper shock mount x-member and therefore relocate your shocks as I did (I'm assuming). So you'll gain some scrub-line margin there.
With the 20's and the shock relo you will be above the scrub. Here's how I know: I'm runnin 3" blocks (2.75+0.25 super-track-bar bracket). With my current 17" wheel/tire combo with rim is 2.75" from the ground and the lowest hanging suspension part (lower bag bolt) is also 2.75" off the ground. Very marginal, I know, but the 22's will remedy that So, with your 20's you'll have 1.5" more clearance than I do. Here are some pics: Last edited by Frizzle Fry; 10-10-2007 at 06:49 PM. |

Just curious- have you guys done any adjusting/shimming of the driveshaft angle?. At what amount of drop is this a concern?. I have 4" drop springs now and plan to add 1-2" blocks in the future. Don't mean to hi-jack Gringoloco

Thanks Frizzle. You da man! That's exactly what I was lookin' for. What did you make your blocks out of and where'd you source it?
No worries on the thread jack- we're all here for the same thing. I set my pinion angle by using new perches from ECE, but that was before- I am going a LOT lower this time around. I will get some angled spacers if necessary once I set my ride height. They are available through many sources, but cheapest through circle track racing shops- they use the trailing arm set-up on the roundy-round cars.

I made those and the U-bolts back high school metal shop In case you're wondering, that was sometime between 91 and 95 The blocks are solid aluminum. They've been it three different trucks
