How much for New AC?
Hey fellas I have a 1981/87 chevy pickup and I wanted to replace the old nonfunctioning AC with a bran new one. For compressor, dryer, Hoses, blah blah blah... How much have you guys spent to replace everything bran new?
I was told I could get it done if I have around $600 cash. Also is there anyway to put a "bigger" AC in your truck? Like one that is more powerful? I want the AC to be COLD! Are the suburban ACs any bigger or better? Thanks! |

Re: How much for New AC?
i did a vintage air sure fit for just under a thousand.gets rid of the ugly black box in the corner.everything is tucked up under dash.and blows ice cubes.i upgraded to a cool little polished compressor.and cleaned up the firewall at the same time.while you can replace all the stock components.alot of your switches and o rings and lines are still old.i figured i'd have around 500 into a somewhat new system or bite the bullet and go all out.luckily, for me some overtime was available.thats kinda my play money option.
