I'm not taking that sucker off again! In the future I'll take more pix of every job I do. You never know when someone might need it.

I have 1ea of these c.members sitting around. What exactly are you needing the focus of the pic to be?

Re: can u post a 67-73 xmember pic
Im looking to see what exactly the upper spring pocket looks like. I have 3" ground force drop springs on my 69 & was told they are wrong for the truck. I want to see whats up with it without tearing it all back apart. Can you flip the old style member over and snap a pic for me?

Re: can u post a 67-73 xmember pic
Corn.... It was getting dark already by the time I got home but I snapped a couple of quick pics. Hopefully these have what you need (if not, I'll get you more).
BTW, after flipping each c.member over, there really wasn't any detectable difference so I only took pics of one spring pocket.

Re: can u post a 67-73 xmember pic
Thanks. Here's the deal, my drop springs are the same diameter from top to bottom & all of the stock & aftermarket springs Ive seen for the 67-72's are tapered at the top. I either need to forget it & run them (already installed with no real problem) or cut a coil off the stockers & reinstall them.
The whole deal is, maybe I can get another inch of drop from the cut coils. Thanks again, I dont see a real difference in the pockets either... Last edited by corn; 11-01-2007 at 11:39 PM. |

Re: can u post a 67-73 xmember pic
Cut the stockers down. 1-coil removed won't hurt anything. More than that & you start running out of suspension travel real fast. The bump-stop 'towers' would be the first thing that hits the bottom part of the c.member.

Re: can u post a 67-73 xmember pic
2 ~ 3" depending on the amount of 'sag' the original spring has.
