Another rearend question if I may
I am in need of converting the rear thats in my 66, dana 44 with leafs.What leaf spring rear with a 5 bolt pattern bolt in if any.I have not found any 5 bolt axles that will no work in my Dana 44.I dont wanna convert to rear coils.Too much fabbing to get it to work.Any suggestions?

I have a 1966 GMC parts truck, which I was told has a rearend that someone had taken out of a 1979 Chevy or GMC 4WD truck. It is of course still 6 lug being from a 4WD, but I believe the spring perch widths are the same between 2WD and 4WD in 1973-1987 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks. Just measure your spring width from center of one spring to the center of the other, and go check out some junkyard trucks. Also with the 73-87 trucks you have a better chance of getting something with some more highway-friendly gears.
