I just inherited a tailgate that already had the outside smoothed. It has the bracket for the relocater already on the inside (no hole yet), but i have nothing else from the Kit-. Did it use the stock release handle?? what happens with the rods. thanx , crossy

I bought a reverse kit from Mar-K for around $100. It came with the rods, the cover plate and the handle. I'm not sure if the rods are the same because I didn't compare them to the stock ones. The handle from the kit I got is just an 88-98 Chevy tailgate handle which should be readily available. Here is a picture of the installed product on my truck. Sorry, I don't have any of the install process.

My kit used/uses the stock handle and rods...it only came with a bracket and template.

That is a great picture and we would love to use it if you wouldn't mind emailing a copy to me. webmaster@mar-k.com. You hardly ever get a picture of the relocator kit from the INSIDE.

These kits are $80.00 and also include instructions which have a template for cutting the hole.

I usd a sir michaels kit. you use the stock rods and handle. you have to flip the rods over so the hook into the handle but it was very easy

well Bill, welcome to one of the best 73-87 forums on the net. this is the one I probably told you about.I try to tell everyone who has dealt with me.
I changed emails about a year ago and then computers appx. 9 months ago and lost every email address I had.

BTW- i got rid of the 95 883 and stepped up to a 2002 1200C .

wouldn't know- maybe tomorrow:-), got it legal a week ago and been crappy ever since.

the 883 ran sweet for what it was cold or hot . tuning was spot on. the 1200 needs some help. Nice V&H pipes but apparantly no jetting to match.
