73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
I posted this first in the pick-ups section by accident, sorry for the repeat post. I'm trying to replace my window regulator and the channel that attaches the glass to the regulator. I'm having no trouble finding replacement regulators, but I can't seem to find the channel piece anywhere. In most parts catalogs, there is a regulator listed as good for 1973 models, and another regulator for 74-76 models. I'm hesitant to try a 74-76 regulator and channel unless I know that it works....any advice?

Re: 73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
I wasn't aware of any major changes from 73 to the rest. LMC lists the manual regulator for 73-89.
Here's the link: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/bzc/0025.asp But if your not sure before spending $100, go find one at the boneyard and try it out. I got one for my 75 out of a early 80's model. It bolted right in. I did have to put new rollers on it though.

Re: 73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
Thanks for the reply. My problem isn't with the regulator, its with finding the sash channel. If you look at the lnc catalog, it has regulators for 1973, but the sash channel is for 1974-80....there is nothing listed for 73. I was hoping someone knew offhand what difference there was between the 1973 and 1974 sash channel. I might as well stop being lazy and hit the boneyard and do a little trial and error like you suggested.

Re: 73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
I'm not sure where you are looking at on the LMC catalog. When I look at it, the sash channel is listed 73-91. I looked at the suburban catalog too and it shows the same year range of 73-91.
My brain is a little fried today so I might be missing something.

Re: 73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
I think I've figured out our problem.....I forgot to specify that I'm looking at fixing my driver's door glass, not the tailgate (SORRY). So I'm checking out p.16 on the LMC catalog:
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/bzc/t.asp?page=16 Sorry for the mixup, I should've been clearer in my original post. |

Re: 73 Blazer Window Regulator/Channel
Ding ding! I'm not going crazy. I just assumed it was for the rear. 90% of all window regulator questions in the blazer/sub forum seem to be about the rear. Man did I go off the deep end.
Assumption not withstanding, my original thought to get some boneyard parts and compare would still work. There might have been something different due to the 73's being brand new, but I don't see it being a huge change. Truck or blazer it should be the same. At worst you might have to use a complete regulator and sash from a 74-on truck to replace the whole 73 assembly, but you need to compare the mounting to make sure they bolt in the same.
