Need info on 6.2 Diesel Blazer

Hi Guys,

Looking at a 83 6.2 Banks Turbo Blazer, got all the options. What kind of mileage can be expected from one of these? He is stating 25-30 mpg, is that correct? Not sure at what cruising speed, but that is awesome if correct, considering the price of fuel. Thanks for all you help and feedback. Again, I know almost nothing about the diesel motor. Thanks.

Re: Need info on 6.2 Diesel Blazer

A lot of it has to do with how the pump is tuned. We has an 83 Sub with the 6.2 that would get in the high 20's on a good day with a 700R4. When the overdrive went out, we replaced the trans with a 400, and it dropped to about 18-20 (driving it easy on the highway). I wouldn't expect anywhere near 25-30 with any in town driving.
