Re: Eaton rear.....obsolete Junk!
I rebuilt the brakes on my eaton, new shoes-drums-wheel cylinders-auto adjusters-bearings-lug studs & E Brake cables. Drums were brand new and cost @ $230 IIRC. The only advice I would ever give is dont go to an autoparts store for the bearings unless you know them and they give you a good deal. Go to a bearing supplier you'll save about $100. The Ebrake cable replacement was a little tricky. I would up modifying the new cable a little and using the original mounting brackets so they bolted in the same way. It was worth it IMHO because its back to original...the first original lasted 37 years.........

Re: Eaton rear.....obsolete Junk!
I let my subscription to Petersons run out years ago. Pick up a copy every now and then but there isnt much in the magazine anyway. All new trucks for the most part. Plus it seems like any issue I happen to look at has a bunch of imports in it.
Seems like a lot of people seem to think , new design = better. |
