New Upholstery for 77 Bonanza

Got my truck out of the trim shop this morning. Had them do the seat up veru close to original configuration! Ordered material that was $138 a yard. Needed 1.5 yds. Just that was almost $250 with shipping. Anyway, the shop used new vinyl and foam for the rest of the job. All new seat. They installed the LMC carpet set with insulation backing. Looks pretty good but I am going back to have them trim on the right side along the kick panel. Installed new door jamb weatherstripping also. Just need to add my new door panels and it's looking pretty good! IMHO, anyway. First two pics are BEFORE the job. Pretty sad.

Thats Nice ! If you dont mind me asking , how does the weave material compare to the original ? My blue 77 has the same seat in blue but has a tear on the drivers side only . I like the look of the factory seat but didnt think the material would be available . Frank

Re: New Upholstery for 77 Bonanza

Thanks for the comments, all.

Fmonroe. If Caldwell is near Fort Worth, you can go by J&J Supply on White Settlement Rd. They have the same weave in blue in their 1977 factory upholstery sample book. Right next to the material like mine. I had them call and check and they said it was available. Came from somewhere in Oregon, I think. I would guess the blue is also available. Expecty it to be the same per yd - $138.00.

They charged me $190 for the vinyl material and all the other materials and labor involved for the seat. So, it was a bit on the expensive side, but I like the results. This is the only closeup I've got right now. I'll post some more when I get the door panels on. You can see on this one the wavy line they stitched on that trim detail about halfway up the seat back. Not very good on the sewing machine work. But, overall, very nice.
