Lets put this interior issue to rest. It is factory! This is straight from a 1979 Chevy dealer book.

That's the proof we all have been looking for, something in writing, so I guess it is what the seller says it is, too bad he wouldn't post a picture of the code sheet from the glove box on his auction site, that would show a potential buyer it is what it is. As of to-day I notice no bids, out of my price bracket anyway, but it would be nice to find something with no rust.

Re: 79 Chev 650 original miles

This truck was on Ebay a couple years ago.

At that point, it had the same West Virginia plates and was for sale in New York. I'm guessing this thing has been passed around a bit. It had 638 miles in that auction.

Here's the build sheet and options sticker from there. The 74I on the build sheet indicates the carmine (red) interior color and the 12W gives the secondary color of Mystic (white).

Thanks Joe, I guess that answers all our questions, surprising he did not post this info. on his auction this time. He did not receive any bids and the auction closed.

Ooo, oo! Me me!

Just kidding... bleh! (did they really make that?? Clearly people were taking a lot of drugs in the 70's!)

Re: 79 Chev 650 original miles

It's a wonderful color isn't it. Well I grew up with it because that's the way Dad ordered it back in the day. May he was part of that 70ish scene. Hooah!

The console is original color, just not faded like the rest. When the truck was brought home from the dealership, Dad acquired a blue pillow to place over it as a cushion (mice finally got to it last year).
