That motor turned out really sweet. I like the intercooler. It makes my 177 seem small. I cannot wait to hear it run.

I have been out of town for a week and when I got back today, I had an email from the engine builder saying the engine is running and is extremely powerful, but... the 2 850 Mighty Demons are not big enough! Now I have to buy the King Demons and add alcohol metering blocks so we can get more fuel and air to the motor. He wants to run 140 jets and the Mighty Demons can only take 110. The CFM is too small for the 16 % overdriven motor with only 1700 cfm- he says we need 2000 cfm. I didn't realize that the 60 degree twist and 18 point stripping on the blower rotors was going to be so effecient that it "darn near sucked the roof of the shop in" as my builder put it. The motor drains the fuel bowls dry in 12 seconds at idle! He's going to try adding the bigger metering blocks/jets to the 850's and backing the boost down to 12.5 and try. If that works he'll dyno next week but the motor will have a rev limit of 6500 rpms. At this point I'm contemplating just switching to a Hilborn Hat Injector system and running alcohol. Then we can reach the potential of the motor and it will run cooler. That will be a big plus here in Az. I'm probably still a month or two away from having everything ironed out. I'll post again with more news. Qwyktruk |

Re: She's ready for the new bullet- Here's a few pics
Id have to say my jaw hit the floor when the motor loaded up on the screen bravo indeed. Not to get off topic though, but I noticed you have a pretty healthy set of onions on the rear of your truck. Did you have to modify any of your frame or inner bed to fit those tires? And what size are they? 4 link? ladder bars? pics you could email me or tell me of another thread they are in? Thanks
