Re: It's alive!!! again
I didn't take any pictures, my wife had the camera with her out of town.
Do a lot of searches on here, there's a lot of info although some of it's hard to find. Here's a few things that I hadn't though about before the swap. -Don't expect to find the transmission mounts, transfercase torque mounts, seals, ect. at the parts store. I had to order everything, they didn't even have part numbers. - I wish I had removed the transfercase and tranny as one piece, the transfercase was difficult to balance on a regular floor jack. -The 700r4 is metric so you need a different nut for the linkeage and a different bolt for the tv cable mount on the tranny. -attach the cooling lines and get the dipstick in place before you bolt up the transmission. - the dipstick for a 700r4 is different then the th350 although I've heard that both will work. the 700r4 has a grommet that has to be removed if you would want to use the th350 dipstick. -tv cable, I couldn't find a stock one that had the right length of the inner cable. Aftermarket is the way to go. I know these are all really obvious but these are the things that held me up. Last edited by the_goat; 03-12-2008 at 06:04 AM. |
